Dog Championship Shows

The Kennel Club hold Championship Dog Shows throughout the year all over the country.  The pinnacle of the show calendar being Crufts which is usually held every March but in 2021, due to Covid, will be on the 15th to the 18th July at the NEC Birmingham.

In 2022 Japanese Spitz will be there on the 12th March (Utility Day) and it’s a great opportunity for potential owners (or existing owners for that matter) to see them in the ring and to meet prospective breeders.

Oh! and there is the small matter of shopping too, Crufts boasts the largest number of doggy retailers under one roof.

Dog Breed Open Shows

The Northern Japanese Spitz Club hold one Breed Open Show each year, this is usually in February however due to Covid, this will now be later in 2021 so keep watching for the date to be released.

Although your dog needs to be KC registered to enter the show, anyone can come along to watch and it’s usually quite an event too with between 40 and 70 Japanese Spitz bathed and brushed.

It is an excellent opportunity to see the breed and find out more about ownership, you’ll also get the chance to talk to many breeders too.

Fun Days and Outings for Japanese Spitz Dogs and their Owners

The Club, its Members and Associates enjoy meeting with each other and our furry friends and so organise events such as fun-days for all to participate.

One such event is Spitz in the Park (which is a two-day event organised by The Finnish Spitz Club) is for all Spitz Breeds and is usually held in the Summer over a weekend and always attracts a fantastic entry.

The Club is currently discussing their exciting plans for other events post Covid so keep checking here and our Facebook Group** for more details.

As show dates / events are released, you’ll be able to read about them here.

Get Togethers and Country Park Walks for Japanese Spitz Dogs and their Owners

One of our favourite events are the Japanese Spitz 'Get Togethers' that we organise throughout the year.

These are usually walks where a group of Owners get together with their dogs for a walk in the country which usually ends with tea and cake.

Locations so far have included Lymm Dam, Roundhay Park in Leeds, Stanley Park Blackpool; Haigh Country Park in Wigan and the Burrs Country Park in Bury.

BTW:  these events often attract some of our 'big-brother' Samoyed and our 'little-brother' Pomeranian breeds.  -  All are Welcome.
